40 tons = Euro 5, Euro 6 : New regulations in France
From October 1, 2025, Euro 5 trucks will no longer be allowed to operate above 40 tons in France.
An order dated July 29, 2021, so called L’arrêté du 29 juillet 2021[1] issued under Article R. 312-4 of the French Road Code, introduces progressive restrictions on the operation of vehicles and vehicle combinations exceeding 40 tons across French territory. These rules, effective since January 1, 2022, aim to promote the use of newer, environmentally friendly vehicles.
